Strategic Planning: Share Your Input and Enter to Win
The Library is engaged in a strategic planning process and we need input from our community.
Please answer a quick four-question survey either online or at the library. You will find bookmark-shaped surveys on every floor that can be turned in at any library desk.
Everyone who responds (and includes their phone number) will be entered into a drawing to win a $50 Plymouth gift card.

New Labeling for Disney Books
If you regularly bring a Disney picture book lover to the library, you will be happy to know that the Youth department is introducing new, more specific call numbers for this large collection.
Instead of just DIS, the new call number (and added spine labels) will also indicate the movie or series such as Frozen, Pooh, Cars, Fairies, etc. to help patrons and librarians more quickly find specific Disney titles.
We appreciate your patience as we work through this labeling/cataloging project, since many of these titles are checked out at any given time.
Let us know what you think about this change or if you have any questions about finding your favorites.

Teen Food Drive for PBJ Outreach
Teen Library Volunteers have asked us to share that they are hosting a food drive at the Library to benefit PBJ Outreach, a local organization committed to fighting hunger in Detroit.
The food drive will run for the month of September, and a drop box can be found in the Library’s meeting room area. PBJ Outreach requests only specific items be donated.
They include tuna fish, bottled water, sugar, coffee, coffee creamer, canned baked beans, candy (small bars), bulk popcorn, coffee cups, spaghetti sauce, zip lock bags (quart and sandwich), canned or boxed foods, juice, cereal, goldfish crackers, chips/pretzels, cookies, crackers, peanut butter, granola bars.
(The list can also be found here.)

Teen Books & Bites - Dear Evan Hansen
Sign up to get your free copy of Dear Evan Hansen by Val Emmich with some snacks. Then join us on Thursday, Sept 30 at 7pm to talk it over.
The novel Dear Evan Hansen is based on the Broadway musical, and now there’s a movie based on the book and the musical. In any form, Dear Evan Hansen, is a compelling, heartfelt story.

One of the most popular spots in the library is the Dunning Parlor, named for library donor Bessie Dunning and her daughter Margaret.
A large variety of magazines can be found in the parlor – a great community resource for information and entertainment.
Individuals, businesses, and organizations may adopt a magazine by donating the annual subscription cost to the library.
If you or your organization are interested, please fill out the form on the Adopt a Magazine page. Thanks for your interest!
