STATE CHAMPIONS
Congratulations Cullen McCaleb &
Avery Owen!

Cullen McCaleb is the TAPPS AAA State Cross Country Champion. With high hopes coming into the 2020 season, Cullen expressed his passion, grit, and determination to finish in the top five earlier this year. Last season, Cullen finished 7th. At Monday's State Championship meet, he finished 1st out of the 99 runners. He ran a 16:34 and set a personal record at each race this season.

Avery Owen is your TAPPS AAA State Cross Country Runner-Up. Last season, Avery finished in the top 20 and set her goal to finish in the top 3 at the State Meet in the 2020 season. She ran a 12:40 on Monday and finished 2nd place with 66 runners in her division. Avery is a dual-sport athlete this fall. After competing at the State Cross Country meet Monday morning, she made it back to Lakehill's campus in time for volleyball practice that evening. She is competing tonight in the bi-district volleyball playoff game.

Congratulations to Cullen and Avery!

A time-honored Lakehill tradition, Homecoming brings together students, parents and alumni to celebrate their Warrior spirit. The festivities highlight Warrior spirit through athletic events, spirit days, and a virtual community wide pep-rally. It simply wouldn’t be fall at Lakehill without the crowning of a King and Queen. Tune in to our virtual community wide pep-rally to watch the crowning take place!

The highlight of this week is the Homecoming game when the Warriors take on Denton Calvary at the Roger L. Perry Campus on Friday, November 13 at 7:00 pm. Admission is restricted for all events.

1st Grade Pumpkin Reports
First Grade completed a book report project based on a fictional character. The project focused on reading fluency, comprehension, and story elements. Students focused on four character traits and four physical characteristics of the character they choose from the fiction book. Students decorated pumpkins to reflect the characteristics. In First Grade, students work on reading with confidence. This was a wonderful project to incorporate all of these skills.
Halloween Carnival
The Halloween Carnival took place over two days last week. Students played games and attended the carnival during their PE time.
Electoral College Assembly
Upper School students, Asher and Keegan, sat alongside the Upper School history teachers to share about the history of the Electoral College prior to the election.
TREK for TECH

Awards will be given to fastest student (girl and boy) and adult (male and female) in the One Mile Fun Run and 5K Race. For adults, the awards will be determined by age group as usual. $30 per person includes the official TREK t-shirt and Awards Show & Trivia Game.
AWARDS SHOW AND
TRIVIA GAME

November 7 at 4:00 PM

NEW THIS YEAR! One of the special parts of TREK for TECH is to gather together in person as a Lakehill family on the parking lot on Race Day. Unfortunately, that will not be possible this year so we’ll do the next best thing – gather online by Zoom to celebrate our race and fitness challenge winners, announce the raffle prize winners and to play a super fun Lakehill-inspired Trivia Game. You won’t want to miss this! Purchase of Awards Show & Trivia Game ONLY also includes the official TREK t-shirt. $30 per person.
Thank you to everyone who was able to join us for the Fireside Chat with Mr. Perry. It featured some great stories, lots of laughs, and most importantly lots of memories. It even featured Ms. Brooks as an added bonus!

If you couldn’t make the live chat, not to worry! You can still watch every Warrior's favorite Headmaster talk about a few of his favorite moments at the helm of Lakehill.
