Blessed Feast Day of our Patron Saint!
St. Demetrios

Saint Demetrios suffered in Thessalonica during the reign of Galerius Maximian (c. 306). He belonged to one of the most distinguished families of the province of Macedonia and was widely admired not only because of his noble ancestry and grace of bearing, but also for virtue, wisdom and goodness of heart surpassing that of his elders.

The Byzantine Dimitria: When Thessaloniki
Celebrated With the Entire Western World
The Dimitria, or the festival of St. Demetrios, the patron saint of Thessaloniki, was an exceptional feast for the whole of the Western world. The satirical dialogue known as the Timarion, which was written in the 12th century, declares that the city attracted at this time "not only locals or those of one race, but people from all over Greece and of every ethnicity-Greeks from all over, various tribes of Bulgars from among those who lived between the Danube and Southern Russia, Italians, Spaniards, Portuguese and Celts who live beyond the Alps."

Sunday School/
Religious Education Update!

This week's At-Home Lessons were e-mailed this past Thursday. Please take some time to look over them, as there are a lot of great resources about our patron saint and other saints as well.

A REMINDER...there will be no Sunday School Zoom classes this Sunday, but we invite you to join us via our LIVE-STREAM for our Feast Day Great Vespers at 7pm.

If you do not receive information via our Sunday School Weekly E-Mail, please contact our Sunday School directors ([email protected]) to be added to the list and also give them pertinent information about your children (name, grade, etc...). Although we will be online and virtual for the time-being, we still want to maintain our Sunday School database for the future.
Click the button below to check out the Fall Sunday School Calendar and be added to our mailing list.
