Ministerial Destination Visits

In January, the Minister of Tourism and Diaspora Relations, Hon. Anthony Mahler, began his Ministerial Destination visits. The Minister was accompanied by the CEO in the Ministry of Tourism, Nicole Solano, the Chairman of the BTB Board of Directors, Evan Tillett, and other personnel; the team was also joined by the Minister of Civil Aviation and the Blue Economy, Hon. Andre Perez.  Visits have been concluded in the North islands; GS properties, tourism service providers, industry partners and tourism associations provided insightful feedback for the industry’s rebounding efforts. The Ministry and BTB, while unable to visit every tourism stakeholder, reaffirms its commitment to remain accessible to the industry.

Congratulations to all our industry partners who have achieved Gold Standard certification! Close to 60% of accommodations (some 489 properties) and more than 60% (251) of tour operators have been certified; 20 tourism entities and transportation providers have aligned their operations with the program and are actively working to provide guests with a safe experience while in Belize.
Gold Standard stakeholders continue to be highlighted via social media; here are a few examples:
All GS entities will also now be able to utilize the WTTC Safe Travels stamp for marketing. If you are a GS property and have not received the communication and marketing collateral for the Safe Travels Stamp, please contact pr@belizetourismboard.org
