Remembering Scott M. Bock
The Boston Globe's Adrian Walker began his column last week with these words: "The legend of Scott Bock — human services executive extraordinaire — began with one little girl, who was blind and couldn't speak...He could communicate with her, and she seemed to connect with him...And, with that, an aspiring lawyer became a lifetime advocate for those who desperately needed his voice."

by Jake Donofrio
Riverside Marketing Intern
The Neponset River House Garden is constantly growing and changing, much the same as the Clubhouse members responsible for sustaining it. Tomatoes, peppers, beans, and many more plants thrive side by side, mirroring the therapeutic growth of the members who tend the garden together. This beautiful variety of plants reflects all the unique people who came together to bring something life-affirming into the world.

New Youth Suicide Prevention Training for School Personnel
Riverside's MindWise Innovations just released ACT for School Staff: Responding to Suicide Risk in Students. This one-hour virtual training, designed for K-12 faculty and staff, uses video and interactive scenarios to teach participants the ACT (Acknowledge, Care, Tell) model already taught to students in the SOS Signs of Suicide curriculum. Adults learn to recognize warning signs for suicide in youth, act as trusted allies who can engage in caring conversations with students, and connect children to help through school district protocols.
