This International Indigenous Women's Day – Engage the real change makers and starting this Friday, join us at the IUCN Congress in person in Marseille or online!

Florina Lopez (RMIB-LAC), a Guna leader from Panama,

Luz Fernandez (FIMI), a Wayuu leader from Venezuela, and

Lola Cabnal (Ak’Tenamit), a Maya Q’eqchi’ leader from Guatemala, reaffirm that their leadership as indigenous women is vital for the protection of Mother Earth.

The World Summit of Indigenous Peoples and Nature, hosted at the IUCN World Conservation Congress, will create a space for indigenous peoples to raise their voices, reaffirm their rights and present their proposals as stewards of nature. The Summit will present the results of collaborative planning led by IUCN Indigenous Peoples’ Organisation members to develop a Global Indigenous Agenda for the Governance of Indigenous Lands, Territories, Waters, Coastal Seas and Natural Resources and call on the global community to play supportive and enabling roles.

Diphetogo Anita Lekgowa (IPACC), a San leader from Botswana and Jennifer Tauli Corpuz, a Kankanaey-Igorot leader from the Philippines call on the global community to join us at the IUCN World Conservation Congress!
