Right now, our four summer youth institutes for Americans, Israelis, and Palestinians are underway. Over 60 teens and staff from across the USA and Holy Lands are joining each other online for two weeks of dynamic peace and leadership training. Interactive workshops, dialogue, guest speakers, movies, and games are all integral to advancing the mission of Jerusalem Peacebuilders (JPB) at this critical time.

Typically, our youth participants travel thousands of miles to the USA for an unforgettable summer of in person programming. But this summer is anything but typical. The COVID-19 pandemic and government restrictions forced us to move online to ensure the health and safety of our participants and staff. While this change was disappointing, we have remained undaunted in our preparations and planning. Thankfully, most enrolled participants embraced the new format.

Each JPB summer generates the power of human encounter, when we witness young peacebuilders becoming friends, building common ground, and working together for a shared, peaceful future for Jews, Christians, Muslims, and Druze in the Holy Lands. Indeed, while this summer's format is quite different, what remains constant are the smiles, growth, and hope that our programs foster in the lives of so many promising young leaders and their families.
