Workplace Inspections at Golf Facilities
Over the past few weeks, dozens and dozens of golf courses in specific regions across the province have experienced a zero-tolerance workplace safety inspection by the Ontario government. In addition to the Ministry of Labour, there are other inspectors that have been transferred over to this department to assist with the business inspections (including MTO). MPAC's PIER Program
The Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) is requesting golf course facilities to collect information to allow them to accurately assess properties as part of MPAC’s annual property Income and Expense Return (PIER) program. MPAC is asking for eligible golf courses to submit an income and expense report as well as a summary of current rents for the most recent fiscal; and a summary of golf statistics including number of holes, prime rate, and any other rates charged for a round. It's Renewal Time

Minimum Wage Increase
Minimum wage rates in Ontario will increase on October 1, 2021.

Under the Making Ontario Open for Business Act this increase is tied to the Ontario Consumer Price Index for 2020. The increase to the general minimum wage will be 10 cents, which will bring the new rate to $14.35 an hour.
