GAME TIME, are you ready?

For nearly 2.5 years the housing market has been in a
free-for-all. But the economists are predicting we are in for a "correction" not a "collapse" and that the market is cooling. I tend to agree with them but stop short when they refer to the housing market cooling. Remember what I said in my December newsletter that Real Estate is local. This continues to be the case in Fairfield County where there is still a very pent-up demand and sellers are still enjoying lofty offers.

My advice to sellers is to speak with a REALTOR® as soon as possible if you are thinking of selling to get the ball rolling. So far we have had an incredibly mild winter and the Spring market is almost upon us. If your plans include relocating, trading up or downsizing this year, it is time to get to work. The median prices are still going up.

For the buyers the good news is that the interest rates continue to drop. I think at this point you know the drill, get pre-approved, work with an experienced agent who has intimate knowledge of the town you decide to live and lastly this is your decision. Try to avoid the multiple of whispers in your ears about when you should buy. Have faith in your decisions. This is 100% personal and the choices you make are tailored to your individual circumstances. Forgo the swell-headed peeps.
