Dear children, teens, families, and parishioners at St. John’s,
How are you? I hope the summer is off to a great start for you all!
Recently, I’ve been hired for another position, so in the coming weeks, I will be moving on from St. John’s.
Over the past four years, I have been honored and delighted to journey alongside the young people of St. John’s. Every Sunday I have been wowed by their thoughtfulness, kindness, and wisdom. They ask deep questions and I regularly see: God lives within each and every one of them. They are incredibly special just in being exactly who God has made them to be.
Additionally, I wanted to share my heartfelt thanks to everyone who has volunteered to nurture the young people at St. John’s. I appreciate all the ways you seek to make this a special community for them and journey alongside them in their faith lives. It truly is a tremendous gift and I thank you deeply for all of the support and care over the years.
St. John’s is truly a blessed community for having so many wonderful children and young people among the families and parish. Even more broadly, St. John’s is a special place. The generosity and service spirit of St. John’s is truly unmatched and it’s rare to see a church with the diversity St. John’s has. I really believe this community has many gifts and I wish you all the very best in the coming months!
Warmly,
Mattie Johnson
