So what is thought leadership?

Thought leadership was the topic of our Chamber poll last week, and according to the results, only 32% of you practice it. Interestingly enough, 47% of respondents were either unsure if they do, or asked what it is. To help clear that up, we wanted to define it better for members and share tips on how to incorporate it into your business strategy.

Thought leadership is the expression of ideas that demonstrate you have expertise in a particular field, area, or topic. In short, the definition of thought leadership is innovative thinking full of insight and information

Thought leadership can be practiced in many ways, from writing a blog, publishing a “how to” video, giving a seminar, sharing articles on social media, or simply sharing your opinion. It builds brands, both personal and corporate, and positions you and/or your company in the minds of customers and prospects.

Thought leadership is a successful practice that takes time and patience to succeed. But if done right, it pays off in dividends. Here is a great article to learn more about what thought leadership is and how to do it: What is Thought Leadership? | LinkedIn
