JUNE 2020 PROGRAM UPDATES
To the Mid-Peninsula Boys & Girls Club Community,

We hope you are safe and healthy. June has been a great month to make Great Futures Happen at the Mid-Peninsula Boys & Girls Club. Here is an update on our activities:
OUR CLUBS ARE OPEN
On June 15, we reopened our doors to a limited number of our kids. Our staff and members are following strict health guidelines to make sure camp can be fun, impactful and most importantly safe. We are hosting both in-person summer camp and virtual online camp.

For more information on the Clubhouses please contact MPBGC Director of Operations, Joe Egan at [email protected].
TEEN LEADERSHIP: PODCASTING

School is out and Summer Keystone is in! Our Keystone teens are busy this summer working on a podcast project, Stay at Home with Keystone . The podcast dives into the journeys of women innovators, entrepreneurs, and college students. Our teens are talking with real women, tackling real problems. They already interviewed MPBGC's 2017 Youth of the Year, Isabelle, about her experiences at New York University. Podcasts are recorded every week and will be released in August on Spotify and Apple Music. For more information on Summer Keystone, contact Karen Chin at [email protected]
WELCOME TO THE TEAM, MONA SHAH
We are excited to announce that Mona Shah will be joining the organization as Development Director.

Mona’s passion for both education and working with youth is in direct alignment with MPBGC’s mission. “MPBGC is excited to welcome Mona to the team and we know she will be a tremendous asset,” said Evan Jones, Executive Director of MPBGC.

Mona has over 20 years of experience in finance, fundraising and strategic planning for institutions such as Merrill Lynch and Bertelsmann. Most recently, Mona has channeled her expertise in the non-profit sector. Notably, she was Chair of Annual Giving at Hillsborough Schools Foundation, and has been an active community fundraiser for the Asian Art Museum and Human Rights Watch. She received her B.A. from Bates College in Art History, and holds graduate degrees in Economics and Statistics. Mona is a local resident who enjoys exploring the Bay Area on the weekends with her three kids and husband. Mona may be contacted at [email protected].
OUR KIDS BELIEVE: BLACK LIVES MATTER
Our kids are leaders:
Recently, one of our high school students organized and led a Black Lives Matter March in Daly City.

Our Keystone Leadership Club has been utilizing social media as a platform to broadcast their support for the BLM movement and an example is the statement above. We are proud of them and know you as a supporter of this club are proud of them as well.

MPBGC is and will always be a social justice organization. With your support, we serve communities of color with mentors and youth developers from their neighborhoods.
THANK YOU
We are able to accomplish all of this and much more because of you! Our community partners and supporters are making a difference in the lives of hundreds of local youth. Thank you for your continued support of the Mid-Peninsula Boys & Girls Club!
