We are sorry to inform you that ADOMA's three-day educational conference has been cancelled due to COVID-19. We were so hoping that the virus would be under control by July and we would be able to get together for a fun-filled conference, but it is not to be. Therefore, we are turning our sights to 2022, and are working on holding a fantastic and celebratory conference. And, your help is requested. Please join the Executive Board at a upcoming Board meeting or submit your wonderful ideas of speakers, theme, location, entertainment, games, and so on to the ADOMA office and lets make the Conference great.

All Regional Stay At Home orders lifted, but restrictions still in place

The Governor’s Office announced this morning, Monday, January 25, that the Regional Stay At Home orders are now lifted in all regions across the state. This means that retailers should return to operating under the Governor’s Blueprint for a Safer Economy that currently allows up to 25 percent capacity in stores in most counties.

Now that we all have a little breathing room with year-end behind us, we can take a little time to reflect on the year ahead of us. I hope you had a chance to attend the meeting last month. Monica Baumann of Scali Rasmussen Law Firm gave us some much-needed information regarding Covid-19. I do not know about you. This time I feel there, is so much more going on at our level? Our dealership has been hit with exposures causing the automatic 10-day self-quarantine. Being in Pasadena with our own health department brings its own set of challenges. I am so grateful to have such an awesome group of vendors that can give us the much-needed help in dealing with all things Covid-19.

I am writing this with a heavy heart. Our long time very active member, Steve Pedraza has passed away due to Covid-19. Steve was our vendor chair and our annual conference chairperson for many years as well as the prior vice president of the LA Chapter. He attended executive board meetings monthly and was a regular at the chapter level. His commitment to ADOMA, his family, clients, and friends was a great one and he will be missed. I personally was impacted by Steve's vast knowledge in several ways. When I became a business manager in 2003, he would come by to check on me and to see if I needed anything. When I became the executive president of ADOMA, Steve was the first person in my office telling me he would help me in any way he could. Rest in peace my friend I will miss you.
