Greetings!
We hope that you will join us for our August 17 meeting featuring Katherine MacHolmes, co-founder of k+r strategies, as she talks about diversity and inclusion and ways her firm does equity and justice work.
"Understanding systemic oppression is often times also not just about the other person, but it's also about a reclaiming of ourselves," she says.
She will address:
- Systemic oppression + privilege
- Understanding our radius of power
- How DEI is actually a journey of recovery for us all
Katherine (she, her) is a native of North Omaha. A biracial Black, queer cisgender woman, she acknowledges the privileges in all her identities. She is an avid reader and writer, up-and-coming podcaster and community activist. She has facilitated equity and justice dialogue series locally, nationally and internationally.
We will be meeting at a new location this month - Big Fred's Pizza, 1101 S. 119th Street.
