The mission of KLRN is to open a world of lifelong learning through trustworthy and enriching programs on-air, online and in our community.
Dear Educators,

Thank you for the care you give to those around you every day. The compassion you show others is one of the many reasons the work you do makes such an important difference in the world. You remind your students, their families, and indeed the community, that they are special and valued. You use your gifts to make the world a better place. Please enjoy this video and resources about a musician who is using his special gifts to make the world a nicer place: Jeremy Shelby | Muse Moments. Friends, you make an immensely positive impact in the lives of those around you. Thank you for what you do.

This month, you can take part in a variety of events on February 2, 9, 11, 24, and 25. Please see details, along with registration links, at the bottom of this newsletter, in the section labeled Professional Development: Upcoming Trainings. Thank you to Firstmark Credit Union for their support of educator training sessions. Please learn more about upcoming sessions and events at klrn.org/events.

A lot is happening in schools this month! KLRN and Go Public are teaming up to share Kindergarten tips, and elementary schools are hosting Kindergarten Round Ups - these events prepare parents and students for school in the fall! Explore Kinder Round Ups and student enrollment information. To learn more, visit the kindergarten near you, ask other parents about their experience with the school, and check your district’s website for enrollment information. Go Public has created a wonderfully user-friendly Education Timeline with tips for Pre-K through 12th grade - it even includes helpful tips for planning for college. Please visit Go Public’s page to learn more and to watch a helpful video on how to navigate the timeline.

We also want to remind you about the Alamo STEM Ecosystem Educator Conference on Saturday, February 11. This full-day conference is free, and will be held at the Scobee Education Center and Planetarium. Please learn more at this link.

We are excited to announce that on Saturday, February 25, KLRN will host our second annual SEE Your Future Career Day at St. Philip’s College! Everyone is welcome to attend this fun, STEM-focused event. Please see details at the bottom of this newsletter in the section labeled “Upcoming Events”.

Please reach out with any questions at any time. You rock! Thank you for being you!
