School News You Can Use
Three things you need to know:

  1. Monday, February 8, is a Community Day. Courses (with a few exceptions) will occur asynchronously, allowing students of all grade levels to attend in-person opportunities at DHS.
  2. Join Principal Anderson for a webinar on hybrid learning from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 10. Please register using this zoom link.
  3. Prior to attending the webinar on hybrid learning, check out the updated Hybrid Learning Student & Family Guidebook which includes an updated bell schedule starting on Tuesday, February 23.
Message from the Principal
Dear DHS Staff, Students, and Families,

As you know, Monday, February 8 is a Community Day. Students have received information regarding various in-person opportunities including Student Council sponsored activities (for students of all grade levels) and the ability for students to walk their schedule. Families can also access this information by following the link provided in the Services and Supports section below.

Next, as you are also aware, we will be transitioning to hybrid learning on Tuesday, February 23. Please join me for a webinar on hybrid learning from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 10. Please register using this zoom link. During the webinar, Principal Finn (HPHS) and I will review the updated Hybrid Learning Student & Family Guidebook and also answer questions from students and families.

Happening Next Week
We have a regular cycle week with no special schedules during the week of February 8-12. Recall that Monday is an Asynchronous Community Day. The Monday schedule may be used to attend office hours for each class period. Homeroom will remain SYNCHRONOUS on Monday.

Random Acts of Kindness Throughout February
Random Act of Kindness Day is on February 17th. Join S.O.S (Student Outreach Services) in spreading kindness and positivity to ourselves and others. There are 28 days in February, so let’s find 28 ways to make yourself and others experience joy this month! Students can access the document by going to their homeroom page on Schoology.

Services and Supports
Community Day on February 8
Community Days allow students to take advantage of both in-person and virtual opportunities. Click below to learn more about the in-person opportunities offered throughout the day. Students who prefer to stay remote are highly encouraged to take advantage of office hours or visiting the virtual ARC for additional support.
Warrior Athletics Webinars
The DHS Athletics Department presents Warrior Webinars every week on Thursday from 4:00-4:30. The Warrior Webinars are available to ALL DHS students.

Procedures to Change Learning Preferences in Semester 2
  • See Dr. Law’s 2-03 email for the procedures to change the preference from Hybrid Learning to Remote Learning or Remote Learning to Hybrid Learning
  • The IC Portal will open again on Monday, March 15 and close at 4 p.m., Wednesday, March 17, for parents to change their selection from Remote Learning to Hybrid Learning
