Middle School Electives
Dear Middle School Families,

It's time to start thinking about electives! Middle school electives run on an A/B schedule, meaning that they rotate every other day. Students will register for two electives (one A and one B). The registration process will be online in MySchoolBucks on a seniority basis with eighth graders registering first, seventh graders registering second, and sixth graders last. All registrations are on a first come first served basis, so it is crucial that parents sign up when they are allowed. (Remember, if you are a BRAND NEW DCSD student, you’ll need to set up your MySchoolBucks account on/after July 1 and, preferably, before your student’s elective enrollment date.)

Registration will open at 9 a.m. on the dates listed below. If the elective you wanted isn’t listed, that means it is full and you must choose another class.

  • 8th grade: Wednesday, July 7
  • 7th grade: Thursday, July 8
  • 6th grade: Friday, July 9

Registration will close at 10 p.m. on Wednesday, July 14. Students that don’t sign up during their registration window will need to meet with Mrs. Boland to be placed into a vacant elective course.

If you have any questions, please email Mrs. Boland.

Thank you,

Ben Franklin Academy
The mission of BFA is to develop young adults with character like America’s founding Renaissance man, Benjamin Franklin: well-read, scientifically curious, and civically engaged.

This is supported by BFA’s vision that our students will excel academically through a challenging, sequenced curriculum that emphasizes math, science, the arts, and literacy. We will be a data-driven institution, focusing on individual students. Our students, teachers, parents, staff, and leaders will be held accountable for the success of our school. Finally, we recognize that an education is incomplete without fostering social emotional development, character, sports, and nature.
