Raven Solomon Discusses Relevant Issues Facing CUs During PIVOT
Closing Keynote: Exploring the Intersection of Generational Diversity & Social Responsibility

As credit union professionals, volunteers and members, we are people who help people. Cooperation is at the core of who we are. These differences impact the way we experience the world, what we understand to be normal, how we show up at work and how we view social responsibility.

Join Raven Solomon, our closing keynote session at PIVOT 2020, as she helps us understand the unique differences we have across generations and how those differences impact the way we view social responsibility and our role within it. Attendees will learn how their colleagues, volunteers and members of different generations are processing the current events of our world and why they might be responding the way they are. Attendees will be left with ideas and next steps to better cooperate across generations in order to create inclusive, equitable environments that contribute to the development and evolution of our communities.

Take a minuet to watch the video and share Raven's excitement about our upcoming program.

Former Barksdale FCU Board Member Passes
It is with great sadness that Barksdale FCU announce the passing of Retired Chief Master Sergeant Virgil Barnette on June 20, 2020 at age 90 due to the COVID-19. Mr. Barnette served as Chairman of the Board of Directors for 40 years.

Mr. Barnette was a man who epitomizes the term quiet leader.  He was a good, principled, intelligent man who people wanted to follow. He recognized that as Chairman his words carried weight and he used them judiciously.  When he spoke, everyone listened.

Barksdale FCU has been very successful with Virgil as Chair and his decisions over the years have resulted in the credit union being one of the most successful financial institutions in the state. To staff and official family, it has been Mr. Barnette's quiet and steady leadership that has been most instrumental in the growth and success of the credit union and its reputation within the credit union movement.

La Cap Launches Membership Rewards
In order to show appreciation to credit union members, La Capitol Federal Credit Union has launched a membership reward program. The program will reward members by depositing cash into their regular savings accounts at the end of a specified 12 month period. The amount of cash rewarded will be based upon the types and number of certain accounts the member has open in good standing for the entire 12 month period.

Members must have a La Cap checking account and be enrolled in online banking and e-statements in order to qualify for the membership reward. The reward for a checking account in good standing for 12 months is $20. The rewards increase for those who also have savings accounts, auto loans, credit cards, and mortgages through La Cap.

"La Cap is a member-owned credit union," said Michael Hooper, President and CEO of La Capitol FCU. "We launched this program because we want to show our members how much we appreciate them and reward them for their loyalty.
