THE CHICAGO DINER
For almost 40 years, vegetarians, vegans, and even omnivores have flocked to The Chicago Diner to get their fill of meat-free - and often dairy-free - dishes that they may not otherwise be able to enjoy.
After becoming a vegetarian on a dare at age 19, co-founder and chef Jo A. Kaucher opened the doors of the restaurant's Lakeview location in April 1983. Despite huge amounts of naysaying from many of those around her, The Chicago Diner has become a staple for people of all tastes and eating preferences.
The restaurant is famous for their country fried steak, cinnamon rolls and of course, The Radical Reuben™, a favorite sandwich of the diner's patrons, made from seitan and vegan cheese. Guests can also enjoy milkshakes, veggie burgers, and biscuits and gravy - all vegan-friendly - and for those who lean more toward carnivore taste, you won't even miss the meat!
The Chicago Diner is offering 10% off discounts at both locations when ordering for the B.Y.O.Brunch - mention the code PHIMC - so make sure you get your order in early!
