| GTA Tech Showcase | |
The Gorge Tech Showcase on September 23 highlighted our strong regional tech hub to an audience of over 50 tech enthusiasts and job seekers. This virtual version of our annual event featured short presentations from Sierra Olympic Technologies, Columbia Gorge Community College, Silicon Forest Electronics, Zepher and Insitu. The virtual platform allowed for variety in presentation styles, which included video, screen sharing and a peek into where the work is being done. Presentations were followed by two rounds of breakout sessions. A big thank you to all of our presenting companies and participants for making the Tech Showcase a big success.

The Gorge Technology Alliance and Gorge Women in STEM are hosting a drive-in screening of Episode #3 of the Chasing Grace Project. The event will bring filmmaker Jennifer Cloer to share the final episode in the series.

October 20 @ 12:00 pm | Geek Lunch | Machine Learning with Jason Christopher, PhD, Myia Health
Machine Learning (ML) is an ever-growing set of methods enabling computers to discover patterns in data. As the principal research scientist at Myia Health, Jason Christopher, PhD, uses ML to predict which patients in a health system are likely to seek emergency medical attention, and instead schedule a preventative appointment with their primary care physician. November 19 @ 12:00 pm | CEO Excellence Forum | Start to Exit: The Story and Learnings
Ken Levy, a co-founder of 4-Tell, will speak about his experience with the company. After its acquisition by SearchSpring in the summer of 2020, Ken was with the company for its full life-cycle, from start up to exit. Attendance limited to CEOs and upper level managers of GTA members. Rsvp to Carrie required.

University of Washington Capstone Program
|
The industry capstone program at the University of Washington College of Engineering partners teams of senior undergraduate engineering students and industry to embark on a full scale design process, resulting in a prototype or similar end-product. Benefits to sponsoring companies include getting a high-touch engagement opportunity to assess student talent and recruit for jobs and a low cost opportunity for a fresh look at a problem. CGCC Customer Survey

Columbia Gorge Community College's mission is "Building dreams and transforming lives by providing lifelong educational programs that strengthen our community." So, how's the college doing? CGCC invites you to complete this customer survey by Wednesday, Oct. 14. Impact Washington COVID-19 Assistance Program

Impact Washington is offering an assistance program to support Washington small and medium-sized manufacturers through their statewide network.
They can help you develop a customized plan of action to ensure you are on track to achieve your long-term objectives. Contact them to schedule a meeting with a Manufacturing Expert who will work with you to understand your specific needs and customize a action plan. Your organization may qualify for CARES Manufacturing Recovery Assistance Funds.

MCEDD | Business Resiliency Training Sessions
- MCEDD, in partnership with the Columbia Gorge Community College Small Business Development Center, Sherman County, and The Dalles Area, Condon, Hood River County and Maupin Area Chambers , is hosting a series of business resiliency training sessions through May 2021. All events will be online, free, and open to all participants, regardless of where your business is located.
