Township Mourns Passing Of Longtime Employee And Community Leader

With profound regret and deep sadness, the Township is mourning the passing of Assistant Public Works Director and Centre Square Fire Company Chief Lee Miller.

Lee worked for the Township for 40 years and volunteered with CSFC for 27 years. He was a valued leader, a tireless public servant, and a dear friend to many in our community. Funeral arrangements are pending.

“Although Lee’s passing fills us with sorrow, remembering his tireless work for our community and dedication to his fellow employees and the men and women of Centre Square Fire Company brings us comfort,” said Supervisor Chair Kim Koch. “On behalf of the Board of Supervisors, we extend our deepest sympathies to Lee’s family and friends."

The Township will look for ways to remember Lee and honor his legacy of service in the coming weeks and months.

The volunteers of Centre Square Fire Co. will be escorting Santa through the Township this Saturday, December 10th, beginning at 10 a.m.

Just listen for the sirens to know that Santa and his helpers from the fire company are approaching your neighborhood.

Leaves Collected December 13, 14

Leaves and yard waste will next be collected this Tuesday and Wednesday, December 13 and 14. Leaves must be placed in biodegradable paper bags and put out at the curb the evening before the scheduled collection. As a reminder, please don’t rake leaves to the curb and do not place leaf waste and branch trimmings in plastic bags or in trash can containers. They will not be collected.

Residents living south of Skippack Pike will have their leaf and yard waste collected on Tuesday and those living north of Skippack Pike will have their collection on Wednesday.

Please click here for a map of the two collection areas

If your pickup is missed, you must call the Township the day of collection at 610-277-2400. This program is not available to private communities.

The Township is no longer selling paper bags for leaf collection. Bags are available for purchase at many hardware stores, supermarkets and warehouse stores.

From The EAC: Electrify Everything

Climate scientists agree that to address global warming in time to keep the earth livable, we need to get to zero greenhouse gas emissions as soon as possible.

One important action we can take in this direction is to electrify everything in our homes. And quickly. And we must supply all these new electric machines with cleanly generated electricity.

Go to www.papowerswitch.com to switch to a 100% Renewable Energy electricity supplier.
