National Farmer's Day on October 12 offers the perfect opportunity to create and strengthen our connections with consumers on social media and in your community.
I urge you to take a few minutes to engage in meaningful conversations, build consumer trust in the food you produce and the sustainable practices you use. Share how proud you are to be part of a great family business that produces a wonderful, wholesome product. Let consumers know how you work to take care of your cows, community, people and land.
Consumers are curious about what farmers do. They want to know stories about us, our families and the cheese and dairy products we produce. It’s knowledge only we can share.
Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin research shows that an amazing 90% of Wisconsinites trust us to provide safe and nutritious dairy products. But our work can’t stop there. We must continue to tell our story. We must keep dialogues going to not only maintain trust, but build on it with today’s shoppers and the next generation of decision makers.
Checkoff advances the Wisconsin dairy story, too. From media interviews and news articles to social channel posts, DFW is constantly working to connect consumers to dairy farmers. And they do this while tapping into real-time, relevant conversations where they can impact on building relationships.
As Wisconsin dairy farmers, we have amazing stories to tell. Take a moment to share yours with consumers on National Farmer's Day – and every day.
