Western COVID-19 Testing on Campus

Western students, staff and faculty can get a COVID-19 test without an appointment at the Western Student Recreation Centre.
Western COVID-19 Testing Clinic hours for October 19-23 are:

This new planning tool is a searchable database of opportunities to gain experience at Western — giving students the chance to browse over 800 opportunities by experience type, delivery mode, and faculty or campus of study.

King's at Rondine Seminar
|
Rondine is a Nobel Peace Prize-nominated international centre for conflict resolution and peace building. King’s students have the opportunity to work with the Rondine community and to design strategies to reduce ethnic violence, respond to religious intolerance and rethink global inequalities.

KAMP is hosting a Halloween Night via Zoom on Wednesday, October 28. KAMP will be carving pumpkins, hosting a pumpkin carving contest, costume contest, and will have Halloween trivia. The pumpkin carving will be from 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. For anyone who does not want to carve pumpkins, you can participate in judging the pumpkin carving contest, the costume contest, and participate in the online trivia from 7:30 p.m. onwards. You do not have to be part of KAMP to join! Everyone is welcome!

The School of MEM is offering Zoom-based peer-to-peer tutoring for key courses. Runs every weekday until the end of December.

The purpose of the 5km Learn to Run training programs is to prepare you to be able to run 5km without walking. The best news? No prior running experience is necessary to learn how to train for a 5km. If you can walk and run, you can finish this program.
|

This group uses a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) approach to treat anxiety, depression, low self-esteem or to just cope better with stress. It is based on the Mind Over Mood Workbook by Dennis Greenberger, PhD and Christine Padesky, PhD. All individuals receive a free copy of the workbook. This is an interactive skills group. Participants are expected to attend all sessions and complete the worksheets provided in order to build experience and confidence with the skills presented.

Would you like to develop strategies for building your well-being? If so, please join us for this 4-week group experience when we will use a variety of approaches, including discussion, activities and mindfulness techniques.

In-person Mass is now being offered on Sundays at 9 a.m., 11 a.m., and 5 p.m. and Wednesdays at 7 p.m. in The Chapel at Windermere on the Mount. CATHOLIC CURRENT
This new series will provide an interactive opportunity to learn the tenets of the Catholic faith from a variety of experts in their field. Topics to be discussed include Sacraments, the Bible, Church Structure, the Mass, Mary, the Saints, Stewardship and Christian living. The format is a half-hour lecture followed by a question and answer period. This weekly series takes place every Thursday from 1:00 pm to 2:15 pm virtually. Sister Sue Kidd, Campus Minister at UPEI, will discuss the Mass on October 22. Click here to register. The Student Development and Peace Group gathers online this year to explore issues of justice from a Catholic perspective. We support the work of Development & Peace - Caritas Canada and their work in the Canada and the Global South. The current campaign is "COVID-19 Recovering Together."
