DISTRICT UPDATE FROM SUPERINTENDENT WAGNER
Dear Fairview Families,

Although school is now out for the summer, please know that we are still here for you and working hard on developing plans for our return to school after summer break.  We are here to help you should you have any questions or needs.  Your best bet is to email us at communications@fairview.k12.oh.us to get you the quickest response and support.

Today, Governor DeWine announced the official state guidelines for how K-12 schools should operate under the COVID-19 pandemic should be released early next week

The plans are expected to be flexible , and this information will be extremely helpful to those serving on our “Reimagine School” Task Force and the three sub-committees developing reopening plans for Parkview Early Education Center, Gilles-Sweet Elementary, and Mayer Middle School/Fairview High School.  Our collective goal is to finalize plans no later than the end of July, and to send it out to all of you for review.  We understand and appreciate that parents will have to look over the details, perhaps ask us some questions, make some important family decisions, and decide what to do.

As we continue to develop our reopening plans, we hope to be able to include a “stay home/remote learning” option.  There are many factors that will drive how such an option would work, including the number of families interested, and the availability, licensure and assignments of staff.  We will share more information once our reopening plans are finalized.  Thank you all for your patience.  This is an extremely complex and intricate challenge with many moving parts.  We promise to do all we can to build the best plan for Fairview Park that reflects the best thinking for each of our schools and provides a variety of options for you, our families.

In the meantime, enjoy the beautiful summer weather, stay safe and be well!

Sincerely,
Dr. Bill Wagner, Superintendent
