We had the privilege of participating in a Resource Rally held May 29, 2021. It was sponsored by All Good Things Ministries. Over 23 Ministries and faith based nonprofits came out to make resources available to the community. It was a coming together of the “Church” to serve those in need of help and HOPE.

Family seeks to offer help after the tragic death of their 13 year old son, James Ransom, by suicide. The James Henry Ransom Foundation was established by his family and friends with the hope of bringing about change to how we approach adolescent mental and behavioral health. Located in Ladera Ranch in Southern California they are making a difference. 
 
Their mission is to raise awareness and money to support programs, organizations, research, facilities and families in dealing with issues related to adolescent mental and behavior health.

Once a child has been diagnosed with mental illness, a lot of support is needed to help the child cope and recover as well as possible, and enjoy the best quality of life. On one hand, a diagnosis can help alleviate much of the anger, helplessness and frustration felt by the whole family when confronted by symptoms of mental illness without knowing why. It’s Real: Teens and Mental Health
Intended for high school classes or community settings with groups of teens, ages from 14 to 18, It’s Real: Teens and Mental Health is a 45-minute program that provides young people with mental health education and resources. The program raises awareness about mental health issues, how to start a conversation about mental health, the importance of self-care, and how to reach out for help.
 
Attendees Will Learn:

● What mental health is and how it's both
similar and different from, physical health.

● How to notice signs of someone needing help.

● Tips and strategies for having a conversation
with someone they might be worried about.

● Methods of self-care for mind,
body, soul, and surroundings.

● Examples of trustworthy resources.

● How reaching out to trusted adults can
help teens manage their mental health.

Talk Saves Lives is AFSP’s standardized, 45-60 minute education program that provides participants with a clear understanding of this leading cause of death, including the most up-to-date research on suicide prevention, and what they can do in their communities to save lives. Participants will learn common risk factors and warning signs associated with suicide, and how to keep themselves and others safe.
