Special Announcement for Members

I wanted to give you a heads' up on several upcoming activities and events of which you may be interested.

Monthly Dinners
This is exciting! Starting September 2d, we will be resuming our monthly dinners with special guest speaker. Please register today online. More info on speaker and dinner can be found at this link.

Paso Robles Swap Meet hosted by Estrella Warbirds Museum
Remember the swap meet we had several months ago to clean out some excess materials? The response was terrific, so we're doing it again plus combining it with our regular automotive themed swap meet. You can plan on selling or donating items to the museum for sale  and joining us October 3rd for the Paso Robles Swap Meet.  Full details are found here.

November State/National Elections - Volunteer Request
SLO County has asked the Museum to be the site of a polling place for the November 2020 election. We need 11 to 15 volunteers to man the polls.  The poll will be open from Saturday October 31st through Tuesday November 3rd.  The shifts will be for 4 hours except on Tuesday. Duties include curbside pickup, drop box control, voter rolls and sanitizing.

Call the Museum at 1-805-238-9317 extension 2 and talk to Ken Neuman or leave a message and we will contact you.

Fencing Requested
The Museum has an immediate need of some 6 foot non-climb fencing, "T" posts and two  6' high x 10' wide gates.  Hoping that someone has some excess lying around they would like to donate.  Please contact Scott Stelzle at 805-610-3310.

Paso Robles city has redefined our lot lines so we can move the "bone yard" out into the new area and use the existing bone yard area to store the items that are coming up for restoration.    For years it was commonly referred to as the "triangle area" but it is actually a rectangular shape.

Non climb fencing is  wire fencing that starts with small openings usually 2" x 4" and gradually get larger as the height of the fence increases.

Volunteers / Docents
Activities at the museum have greatly increased since re-opening. This has been great! Not only are we seeing more visitors, but we also have been provided more options for possibly adding additional donated aircraft and military vehicle artifacts. The Covid issue took a toll on the number of active older volunteers.  If you (or know of someone) who would like to get involved greeting people, sharing similar interests or helping in restorations, we can  use your assistance. Call Ken Neuman (number above) or send us a note letting us know of your interests.

2008 AG M-1123 HMMWV Restoration
If you haven't seen the Iraq War Special Forces HMMWV restoration (Humvee) yet, you need to check it out.  The restoration crew has done a stellar job! This rolling display is certain to capture broad attention for the museum when it starts appearing at local events. We still need a bit of assistance to finish it up!

I also wanted to take a moment and extend my personal thanks for your ongoing support of Estrella Warbirds Museum! Without you, we would have never grown to be on the "must visit" sites list for Paso Robles, California!

Regards,

Rob Kinnear
