I’m sure many of you have been wondering what I have been doing with my time during this forced period of closure for The Moviehouse. One of the great advantages of slowing down our everyday hectic pace is that it gives us all time to take stock and reflect and to observe where our businesses are and think creatively about where we would like them to be, as well as embrace new technologies and examine how to maximize new growth opportunities. This has been my work over the past few months.

As I went through this process, I came to realize that I am at once filled with excitement at the thought of what The Moviehouse can become with an influx of new thoughts and ideas, yet a little melancholy about accepting the fact that I am not 30 years old anymore and I simply can’t do it all by myself. So I have made the decision to seek new stewards who can lead and guide The Moviehouse’s growth and evolution the way Robert & I had always envisioned.

Our goal is to hand the baton to someone who is passionate about the cinema arts and local community, who will be able to realize the incredible potential for The Moviehouse as a regional Arts Center for both our existing audiences and a new and enthusiastic generation of cinephiles.

Of course, this search and transition will not happen overnight. In the meantime we will continue as we have been. We are taking a wait-and-see approach before making any decisions to reopen. There are many factors that must be taken into account, including the current COVID situation and available films. We encourage you to remain steadfast, visit our website, sign up to receive our weekly newsletters, and lend your continued support by taking advantage of the selection of carefully curated films and documentaries available through our Virtual Cinema.

I will keep you all posted every step of the way and be assured that I have no doubt The Moviehouse will continue to prosper and be our anchor for many years to come.

Sincerely and with immense gratitude for your support,
Carol Sadlon
