District to Give Apartment and Building Managers A Preview of Woodchase Park, Opening Late Fall

The construction of Woodchase Park is nearing completion. A future gem and hub of the community, Woodchase Park represents Westchase District's first park that will feature year-round activities.

To raise awareness about the park's location and planned activities, the District is offering apartment and building managers a special preview on Thursday, Sept. 9, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. There will be brief presentations at the Tracy Gee Community Center 3599 Westcenter, and an on-the-go lunch for attendees. Guests will meet our programming partners and then board luxury shuttle bus will transport attendees to the park for an up close look.

"This will be the community's park," said Sherry Fox, Westchase District's vice president of communications. "We can't think of better ambassadors than our colleagues who work in residential communities and corporate buildings who can tell their residents and tenants about this exciting amenity and share information."

The come-and-go event will allow attendees to engage with the park's designers, construction team and programming staff in a fun, interactive event. If you work for an apartment community or manage an office building and have not received your invitation, please email Sherry Fox for a registration form.

New Sidewalks Poured West of BW8

Crews are working west of BW8 to pour new sidewalks on Westheimer.

Westchase District is working continuously to improve the pedestrian experience on Westheimer. Over the past year, new pedestrian lighting, traffic signal mast arm poles, custom pavers, curb ramps and bus shelters have been installed.

Most recently, new sidewalks were poured west of BW 8. The wide sidewalks and landscape enhancements are part of the District's Westheimer streetscape project. "These improvements will benefit retailers, better support transit operations and improve connectivity for pedestrians, all while making this major roadway more distinctive and attractive," said Irma Sanchez, Westchase District's vice president of projects.

West Coffee Company Joins the Market

Harrison West has brought his distinct blend of coffee to the farmers market.

Harrison West believes North American grown coffee can be just as good as coffee from the Colombian mountains. That's why he sources his beans from farmers on U.S. frontiers in Hawaii and Puerto Rico. His company, West Coffee Company, is the newest addition to the farmers market scene. Among West's coffee collection are All-American Blend, American Farmers Bundle, North American Blend, Origin Pack Hawaii, Origin Pack Mexico and Origin Pack Puerto Rico.

West Coffee Company is a family-owned business born in Texas. "Our vision is to connect Americans across the nation with the remarkable coffees grown and harvested here in North America," said West. "While forging relationships with partnering farms and distributors across the United States and Mexico, our team has tasted, analyzed and critiqued countless blends of different varietals, grades and roasts to develop our proprietary blends of premium Arabica coffee."
