A Message from Mayor Susan Shin Angulo
|
|
Dear Neighbor:
I’m pleased and excited to announce that this past Tuesday, Moody’s - the credit rating agency responsible for financially evaluating our Township - upgraded Cherry Hill to “triple-A" (Aaa) status. This is the highest rating a municipality can achieve, and is the result of strong fiscal procedures, smart economic development, a healthy reserve, our diverse tax base and our consistently stable tax rate. The triple-A rating will allow the Township to borrow money at the lowest interest rates offered to municipalities, which could result in significant cost savings for the township and its taxpayers. As we continue to navigate through these challenging times, I am happy to bring some good news to our residents.
I want to offer a quick update on the Township’s positive efforts regarding Kingston Swim Club. Yesterday the Township officially took ownership of the property, ensuring that this land will be protected from development forever. I want to thank the board members of Kingston Swim Club and residents of Kingston for their support throughout the entire process. I know the swim club will be greatly missed, but I’m thrilled that we were able to protect this property for the betterment of our entire community.
Halloween is fast approaching. In case you missed our announcement - we are a GO for trick-or-treaters to put on their costumes and do their best to fill up their bags with candy and treats. Please take a look at our website and social media pages where we posted the state Department of Health’s Halloween safety guidelines. It’s so important that we look out for one another this year. So I’ll say again please look at our website and social media pages for the state’s guidelines on safely celebrating Halloween. We understand there will be families and residents who do not feel comfortable participating this year, and so for those households we’ve created a sign that can be taped to the front door that politely indicates to trick-or-treaters that they can skip this particular house. Again for a link to download your “not participating” sign visit the Cherry Hill website and social media.
Stay safe.
Sincerely,
|

COVID-19 Exposure Tracking App Launched in New Jersey
|
|
|
Add Your Phone to the COVID Fight. Download COVID Alert NJ.
COVID Alert NJ is New Jersey's free and secure mobile app that anonymously alerts users if they have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19.
The app also provides users with up-to-date information on New Jersey reopening news, key COVID-19 metrics, and a user-friendly symptom tracking tool. COVID Alert NJ uses Bluetooth proximity technology. The app will never record any identifying data. All users will remain anonymous. How it Works:
-
Download COVID Alert NJ on the App Store or Google Play Store. Opt-in to receive "Exposure Notifications"
- As you go about your day, the app will use Bluetooth to sense any "close contacts"—other app users who are within 6 feet of you for more than 10 minutes
- When your app senses a close contact, your phone will exchange a secure random code with the close contact's phone. It's important to note that your location and name are never disclosed
- If you test positive for COVID-19, a public health representative will call you and ask if you're willing to anonymously notify your "close contacts" by uploading your app's close contact codes
- Each day, the app will compare your list of close contact codes to the list of codes associated with positive COVID-19 app users. If there's a match you will get an Exposure Alert, along with appropriate next steps

Join our effort to become a Certified Habitat Community!
|
|
|
Lin Goldkranz is a Master Gardener, and her yard is filled with native plants. These plants provide excellent nutrition for wildlife. Her yard also boasts over a dozen bird houses, several birdbaths, and serves as a haven for many birds, butterflies, and other valuable species. This year, Lin certified her yard as a Wildlife Habitat through the National Wildlife Federation.
Lin has joined over 140 other residents in our effort to become a NWF Habitat Community. By providing habitat for pollinators, amphibians and birds, we can improve our air and water quality, and boost crop yields in our gardens and farms.
We need your help, too! We are just over halfway to our goal of 300 certified habitats. Please consider visiting NWF.org/certify
Work through the simple checklist, and you may find that your property already qualifies as a habitat, or may need just a few additional, easily fulfilled accommodations for wildlife.
The process is quick and simple, and can provide a learning experience for your children!
Thank you to everyone who has joined our effort! Together, we can restore habitat that has been lost due to development within our community, and make it an even better place to live.
