A Word From Our President

Happy Election Day!!

If you know me, you know one of my favorite days of the year is Election Day. It is a day we have the right to cast our votes and have our voices heard. It is when we elect people and proposals we believe are in our best interest. It's been said that voting is the language of American democracy, and I believe it is the most powerful tool we have in our democratic society.

There have been many examples where local races have come down to a one vote difference (IYKYK) so EVERY VOTE MATTERS! I hope each of you exercise your right to vote today.

Bay City Bridge Partners would like to provide community education on the new, better Liberty Bridge. They are looking for high traffic facilities to set up their displays, a table, and educational material — manned by their staff, who would be there to answer questions about tolling and pre-register the public for transponder accounts. They can also set up employee registration days and provide educational literature on tolling specifics to your staff. Interested? Contact them and Nichole will reach out to you.

National Apprenticeship Week is next week!

National Apprenticeship Week is a nationwide celebration where industry, labor, equity, workforce, education, and government leaders host events to showcase the successes and value of Registered Apprenticeship for re-building our economy, advancing racial and gender equity, and supporting underserved communities.

This is an opportunity to highlight how Registered Apprenticeship, a proven and industry-driven training model, provides a critical talent pipeline that can help to address some of our nation’s pressing workforce challenges such as rebuilding our country’s infrastructure, addressing critical supply chain demands, supporting a clean energy workforce, modernizing our cybersecurity response, and responding to care economy issues.

What is a Fast Track Pass?

The Fast Track Pass is a fast and convenient way to attend our monthly Eye Opener Breakfasts for the whole year. With a Fast Track Pass you will automatically be registered to attend each month, have the convenience of a one-time payment, and get express check-in. The Fast Track Pass is $150 for the whole year – that’s for all ten breakfasts in 2023.

Each Fast Track pass is assigned to a specific person who plans to use it every month. However, if you can't make it to a breakfast another individual from your organization can use your pass - as long as you let us know prior to the breakfast.

Ambassador Highlight

My name is Justin Simon. I have 2 beautiful daughters. Ashley is 19 and is a sophomore at Oakland University and Lily just turned 13 and is a student in the Bay City Public Schools. We have a 2 year old dog named Dixie who takes all of our spare energy!

I have been in the insurance industry for 10 years and I am currently with Superior Insurance Group. I am an account manager downtown and I absolutely love what I do! Superior is very involved in the community and I am proud to be a small part of that.

I have lived in Bay City most of my life. My family moved here from Tennessee when I was only a year old. I spent some time in the US Coast Guard in Cheboygan and in Maine, but otherwise have been here. I love this city and where it is headed. There are so many great opportunities here and there is always something to do.

In my free time, I am a CASA for the Can Council. It is very fulfilling work and I enjoy it. Helping kids in need is a passion of mine.

Being an Ambassador gives me the opportunity to give back to my community and represent all the wonderful things it has to offer. I look forward to seeing everyone at one of our many events soon!
