St. Peter Weekly News!

Principal's Message:

Dear St. Peter Family,

Happy New Year! It was a joy to welcome everyone back and hear about the adventures over the Christmas break. We have been very impressed this week with our students, as they have started the third quarter exceptionally well. January and February are crucial months for teachers and students. This time of year, interruptions and special events slow down and allow us to zero in on academics and the practice and mastery of essential grade level skills. This is the perfect time to practice, practice, practice, so support from home with schoolwork is both essential and appreciated! We are renewing our focus on respect, kindness, and good manners, not just to adults, but to our peers and friends as well. We are also focused on prayer, and what a week we have had witnessing the power of our prayers! God is good, and we are celebrating that every day. Wishing everyone a nice weekend...send those kids back on Monday ready for another great week!

St. Peter, Friend of Jesus,

PRAY FOR US!

The Feast of the Epiphany of the Lord

Epiphany is one of the oldest Christian feasts and one of the most important! Historically, Epiphany celebrated four things: Jesus' nativity, the Magi's visit to the Holy Family, Jesus' baptism, and Jesus' first miracle at the wedding feast of Cana. Each biblical event is an epiphany, a special manifestation of Jesus Christ to mankind. In the Latin Church, the visit of the Three Kings is the primary focus of Epiphany, symbolizing the revelation of Jesus Christ as a light for the Gentile nations and the Savior born for the redemption of all mankind. Epiphany is January 6th, traditionally marking the end of the 12 days of Christmas. Epiphany is also called Three Kings Day and Little Christmas. Happy Epiphany Day!

2023-2024 School Year!

Even though the new year has just begun, we are already working on the school calendar for next school year! While the calendar is not complete, we wanted to share our start and stop date along with our major breaks, so parents can schedule time off and plan vacations around the school calendar. Please remember, missed school days due to vacations are unexcused absences and can result in a student not being eligible for Honor Roll. Additionally, teachers are unable to provide homework ahead of time to be done on vacations.

  • Wednesday, August 16th, first day of school
  • Monday, November 20th-Friday, November 24th, Thanksgiving Break
  • Wednesday, December 20th-Tuesday, January 2nd, Christmas Break
  • Friday, February16-Monday, February 19th Winter Break
  • Friday, March 29th-Friday, April 5th, Spring Break
  • Thursday, May 23rd, last day of school

These dates are tentative. It is possible that we might need to start a day earlier or attend one day longer in May. We will communicate changes and publish our final calendar as soon as it is approved!
