Airside Updates      Administrative Updates
As we near the end of summer, we're happy to report that despite the continued interruptions we face during COVID 19, the airport is starting to see traffic increase. In fact, not just increase - but set records!

The month of June saw an all-time high of 7,404 operations.  Not only have we seen this trend continue in July, but with an average of over 270 daily operations, we're anticipating a count closer to 8,000. We assume this is a combination of our flight schools playing catchup and our users deciding to fly the pattern as an escape from looking at the walls at home. Either way - we like what we're seeing!

And speaking of traffic, a new controller has joined the ranks in the tower. David Storey comes to us with over 40 years of air traffic control experience working at locations from West Palm Beach to DFW.  He also managed the Denton and Georgetown towers, so his voice may be familiar to some of you.  Make sure to say hello the next time you hear him on the radio.

Happy Flying,
Stacey Batch
Director of Operations and Administration

AIRPORT ADVISORY BOARD SURVEY

In the absence of our Airport Advisory Board meetings, we have been considering other ways to foster more user-friendly communications.

Below you'll find a link to a very short survey that will help us provide a recommendation to the City. The basic question we're attempting to answer: is the existing Airport Advisory Board Meeting structure the optimum format for open, two-way communication with our users and tenants?

Please give us a hand by taking two minutes to complete the survey and provide your feedback, and thanks for taking the time to support San Marcos Regional Airport.
