Mid-Year Meeting UPDATE

from President Pat Scace:

With 200 members in over 9 states and 2 Canadian

provinces belonging to our North Central region, decisions for coordinated in-person events becomes more tricky. Due to the current rise of the Omicron infection rates, and its' probable projection over the next 30 days, the decision has been made to change our Mid-Year Meeting back to a ZOOM call for one more year. (https://globalepidemics.org/key-metrics-for-covid-suppression/stats)

Trying to support our fellow florists by holding our meeting at the GLFEE was a main driver. Please continue to support our members and friends the best way you know how in that area of our NC region.

The ZOOM meeting will be held on the same date at the same time, Friday, March 4, 2022 at 7:00 pm. Details to follow. See you then!

The Inspire Challenge!

Angraecum sesquipidale

Darwin's Orchid

Named after Charles Darwin, who upon seeing the flowers' long narrow nectar tube predicted an insect would exist (much later learned to be a moth) with a very long probiscus (a tongue-like part) to retrieve nectar from the flower's tube and in doing so would ensure the orchid's pollination.

He was right!
