Fall 2021 Return to Campus: Orientation
The Fall 2021 semester is set to begin tomorrow, Thursday, September 9. Study will take place on-campus, online and through a variety of course delivery modes. We look forward to welcoming you back safely to a return to campus life and community.

With the return of in-person learning for select courses (either exclusively or as part of a hy-flex delivery mode), health and safety focused protocols and procedures have been established to ensure that campus is as safe as possible. On-campus activity, event and study spaces are also available for those who don't have in-person classes.

Heading back to campus? Watch the Campus Orientation Video to get on your way.
Here's Things You Need to Know for the Fall 2021 Return to Campus.
1. Vaccination is mandatory
The University of Windsor has announced that to attend campus, a 1st dose of a Health Canada approved COVID-19 vaccine is required by September 7 and a 2nd dose is required by October 7.

Details regarding attestation, exemptions and testing are available on the Vaccination Policy page of the Return to Campus website.

A barrier-free (no health card or appointment required), on campus pop-up vaccination clinic will be held Friday, September 10 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This public clinic is open to anyone 12+!
2. Self-screening is required before coming to campus
Download the Safe Lancer App through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store today. It's the easiest way to complete the COVID-19 Self-Assessment Questionnaire which is required daily prior to coming to campus.

Visit the Return to Campus website for more information.
3. Building Access and Campus Spaces
Upon entry, you'll quickly and easily scan your green (approved) Safe Lancer App QR Code (badge) at QR Code scanners positioned at designated building entrances. RTC Student Ambassadors will be present on campus to assist and/or may request to see your badge.
You must scan every time you enter a campus building or space. This assists with contact tracing. Please help avoid bottlenecks by having your badge ready to scan prior to entering the building.

The following buildings will remain unlocked with RTC Student Ambassadors present to assist with screening:
  • Biology
  • Centre for Engineering Innovation
  • Erie Hall
  • Leddy Library
  • St. Denis Centre
  • CAW Student Centre
  • Chrysler Hall North
  • Essex Hall
  • Odette School of Business
  • Toldo Health Education Centre
Through UwinCARD/fob, all registered students will have access to buildings where physical classes are being held from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Buildings that house student-centred services will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and until 8 p.m. for Vanier Hall residence dining.
4. RTC Student Ambassadors are available to help
RTC Student Ambassadors will be present across campus to offer assistance and ensure campus safety protocols are being met. They will also be stationed at some building entrances to assist with QR code (badge) scanning.

Let's all play our part in maintaining a respectful and safe environment.
5. Safety Protocols
Wear a Mask
Masks are required to be worn by all individuals in
classrooms, labs, and/or other instructional and evaluative spaces. Watch this video to learn how to properly wear a mask. To read the mandatory mask policy, click here.

Hand Hygiene
Make good hand hygiene a priority. Properly wash and dry your hands often for 20 seconds with soap and water. Dry your hands using paper towels and dispose of them properly.
If soap and water is unavailable, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer. Watch this video for proper hand washing techniques.

Practice Physical Distancing
Physical distancing is one of the most effective ways to reduce the spread of the virus. Keep 2 metres away from others whenever possible. The 2 metres physical distancing rule applies to all areas of the university including shared or collaborative spaces, as well as other public spaces such as elevators, and washrooms.

Follow Safety Signage
An extensive Zone and Flow Analysis guided by health and safety best practices has taken place for all University buildings. Occupancy limits, workspace spacing, directional flow and traffic patterns have been established bases on this assessment. Follow all posted signage in hallways, elevators, washrooms and other shared spaces.
6. What's Open? Accessing Campus Services
For a comprehensive listing of open, remote and by appointment only campus services, visit the Available and Remote Campus Services page. The page also links to the Make a Reservation page, where you can make a booking for services across campus. Remember, you must use designated building entrances and QR Code scanners in every building you access.
