Winter Weather Reminder--Flexible Instruction Days

As winter approaches, we want to ensure you are prepared for winter weather. If snow, cold, or ice forces us to close the school buildings, students will switch to a Flexible Instruction Day (FID). These are asynchronous learning days, meaning you can work at your own pace. All students in grades K-12 must log in for attendance purposes through Infinite Campus. Click here for the login instructions.

Work for the day will be posted in Google Classroom (K-8) or Schoology (9-12), and teachers can help by providing correspondence during their teaching hours.

If you do not have internet access, please let your teachers know. Discounted internet service may be available; click here to learn more.

Please contact your teachers or building principals if you have questions about Flexible Instruction Days.

Meet The Team

School Nurse Lexi: Nurse Lexi Campbell is a pediatric Registered Nurse and is joining the Chartiers Valley Intermediate School as a Certified School Nurse. She has spent her entire nursing career in Pediatrics and the NICU, and was excited to transition to school nursing this past Fall! She is the founder and Executive Director of Camp Cranium, a week-long, overnight summer camp for kids who have experienced a brain injury. She is the mom to Avery (2nd Grade) and Cole (Kindergarten), who both attend Jefferson Elementary in Mt. Lebanon. Their family is completed with a Goldendoodle named Max (named after the Grinch’s dog!) Lexi is thrilled to join the CVSD community and looks forward to supporting students in their health.

EL Teacher Mrs. Pryber is in her 10th year of teaching, spending most of that time as an English Language teacher. Her certifications include elementary K-6, English 7-12, and English as a Second Language K-12. Mrs. Pryber graduated from Point Park University with a degree in Elementary Education in 2013. She returned to Point Park for her M.A. in Curriculum & Instruction, with an ESL certificate in K-12. Mrs. Pryber is a self-proclaimed language nerd and finds the science of reading and the reading brain fascinating. She is working on her level 1 LETRS certification to further support reading for all students.

Before joining the Chartiers Valley School District, she taught English Language and 1st grade for Baldwin-Whitehall and 1st grade for JFK Catholic School in Washington, PA. Mrs. Pryber is beyond excited to teach in the CV district. This opportunity has been a long time hope coming true. She and her family live in the most quaint, beautiful part of Chartiers Valley in Rennerdale. This was another dream come true in 2018 when she, her husband Greg, and her daughters Dalenna and Natalie moved back from the East San Francisco Bay area.

Outside of school, Mrs. Pryber loves exercising in all different forms: lifting, spinning, running, Barre, step, dancing, etc. She even does adult tap at the Legacy School of Dance, where her daughters both take dance. Mrs. Pryber is also looking forward to being a Girls on the Run coach this year. When her daughters aren’t keeping her busy with cheerleading, dancing, swimming, voice, etc., she also enjoys reading, being outside, traveling, or playing games with friends. She is also borderline obsessed with her dogs Beau the beast, a Bernese Mountain Dog, and Jack, a mini labradoodle.
