Dear Members
Firstly, on behalf of the MBA Western Cape Executive Committee, Management and Staff, we would like to thank all our loyal members for their continued support over the past few months. Our new membership year kicked off at the beginning of July and we were very encouraged to see that the majority of our members have renewed. For those members who may be grappling with whether to renew due to financial constraints, we urge you to contact our Office Manager (Des Paterson - des@mbawc.org.za) to discuss a payment plan in the event that it may assist you.

WEBINAR EVENTS
The Western Cape Property Development Forum (WCPDF) have launched a series of Webinars which they've entitled "In Conversation". These webinars will be conducted with various stakeholders in the built environment and will be held monthly, with the first one taking place on the 19th August 2020. As was reported in the press recently, the number of days that a patient is required to self-isolate for has been reduced from 14 to 10 days.

MEMBERSHIP DIRECTORY 2020/2021
Dear Members
As a result of COVID-19, the printing of the Membership directory for 2020/2021 was severely impacted.
However, we are pleased to report that the directory is now close to completion on the design phase and should go to print in the next week.

JBCC N/S SUBCONTRACT AGREEMENT:
CLAIMING FOR DELAYS CAUSED BY COVID 19

We recently received an interesting article which was penned by Edwin Giesteira and Annie David covering the very topical subject of claiming for delays due to COVID-19 as it relates to the JBCC N/S Subcontract agreement.
Prof. Tinus Maritz, CEO of JBCC has endorsed the article by saying "I
found it to be very informative and legally sound and in line with my understanding of the matter at hand."
