DECEMBER NEWSLETTER
A NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOR

Winter Reading Program signups begin TODAY! May the Force be with you!

The Library answered 278 reference questions in November and completed 591 no-contact curbside pickups. Call to request materials or pick our brains for the perfect gift book! 508-839-4649.

Please join us in congratulating Marilyn Wilcox for her Paralibrarian I achievement! Marilyn has worked in the Children's Room for over 15 years. And, please join me in thanking Jan Parise for her 8+ years of service at the circulation desk - Jan is retiring December 9.

We have started offering programs to go. Please check the library calendar at graftonlibrary.org/events. Some require signup, others are first come, first serve to get a bag of DIY materials.

Please visit the Library's Frosty Stop for Grafton Celebrates the Holidays! Stop by our 53 N. Main Street Temporary Location between 12 noon and 4pm to pick up a Family Fun Kit via no-contact curbside pickup, while supplies last. Family fun kits contain a variety of seasonal crafts and items for the whole family to complete together at home. Items may include: ceramic gifts, scratch art, ornaments, bookmarks, coloring sheets, candy, and more. Also, keep an eye out for a link on our event calendar to a very special virtual holiday storytime featuring Anna and Elsa.

Please VOTE for the Library in the Home and Business Decorating contest - our Family and Inclusion themed display goes up Fri December 4! You can visit all the entries via a Google Map or from the last page of the GCTH brochure.

Reminder: November and December are Food for Fines months for the Library, so please use this opportunity to make a donation to the Grafton Food Bank in lieu of fines. They now distribute Stop and Shop Gift Cards, and need donations ASAP for the December distribution; keep in mind December includes a break for school age kids who might ordinarily get breakfast and lunch at school, so cereal, sandwich spreads and snacks are appreciated!

Please do remember the Capital Campaign, Library Gift Account, and Friends of the Library on Giving Tuesday (today!) and consider us for your charitable donations! More information is online at www.graftonlibrary.org/donate.

As the winter solstice nears, many traditions celebrate with LIGHT - Advent candles, Hanukkiyot, Kwanzaa candles, Deepavali or Diya, Christmas lights, Yule bonfires... may this dark time bring you LIGHT in some capacity and may you have the happiest, merriest, most peaceful of winter holidays. Embrace the cozy and stay home with a great book, movie or album. On behalf of our amazing dedicated and skilled staff, I send our wishes for a happy, healthy, prosperous New Year!

Beth Gallaway,
Library Director
