Sunapee Happenings
A.G. Evan Photography. (views of Musterfield Farm)
With Summer turning into Autumn, this is a particularly good time of year to enjoy every minute of every day to the best of our ability. This is the perfect time to take a hike in the woods for healthy exercise, great views, fun foraging and other woodland encounters... and, as you take that hike, if you should come across a few remaining summer roses, remember to literally stop and smell their intoxicating fragrance in the midst of your ever busy days.
Since September is National Mushroom Month, perhaps join the Foraging for Fungi experience at The Fells.

The Fells Main Gallery Exhibit: Peace and Tranquility

After these past stressful months with our world turned upside down we find
that The Fells has offered a retreat, a place to come and experience the
peace and tranquility of the natural world. In these past months many
artists have found peace and tranquility painting in their studios or out in the landscape.

This show featuring selected artists who will share their
work and experiences over the past 14 months creating art that reflects the
peace and tranquility that they sought.

Art Exhibit: Art Cafe and Walt Whitman

The Second Floor Gallery features the artists from the Art Cafe and their
work inspired by Walt Whitman's Leaves of Grass. His verse collection
was first published in 1855 and is considered a landmark in the history of
American Literature. These paintings, sculptures and collages are
creations reflecting a line taken from this noted collection.

Both Galleries are open during Main House hours and included with regular admission fee. info@thefells.org or call: 763.4789

sunapee harbor
Traditionally, after Labor Day, the pace of life slows down a bit. Kids are back in school and snowbirds start thinking of heading south. You will find, however, that things are still hopping on the shores of Lake Sunapee! Sunapee Harbor Shops and Eateries have adjusted their hours, but their doors are open to welcome visitors to browse, shop & dine.

  • The MV Kearsarge & Mt. Sunapee boats are still cruising the lake. The Historical Society Museum will be open on weekends.
  • Tho Stacy’s Smoothies & Coffee Bar has closed, their Micro-Golf Course is open for family fun thru September.
So … come on down to Sunapee Harbor for a perfect September day’s outing.

ps: Good News... The Saturday morning Farmers Market had an amazingly successful first year and promises to return in 2022!
