Monthly News and Updates from the Wellness Program
Wellness Monthly Incentive Activities Due!

Don't forget to complete your Monthly Wellness Incentive activities by Monday, November 30th. There are THREE activities that you need to complete:
Health Risk Assessment - REQUIRED!
Then at least two of these three options:
  1. Biometric Screening at a Quest Patient Service Center (or with Physician Results Form)
  2. Tobacco Attestation in HCM
  3. Primary Care Provider Attestation in HCM - NEW for 2020
Those who complete these activities and select a Benelect health plan in 2021 will receive an additional $25 per month in their 2021 paycheck.
New Mini Series! Self Care in Times of Uncertainty
Renew your commitment to self-care as a way to navigate these uncertain times and the challenges of the world around you. Join Heidi Weiker, MSSA in a mini-program that empowers you through practices and strategies that refocus you on self-management, compassion, and gratefulness in adversity.

This is a three part series, offered to faculty, staff and students on Wednesdays in November via Zoom.

Join the Virtual Benefits and Wellness Fair
Monday, November 9 through Friday November 20

During annual enrollment each fall, faculty and staff are invited to a Benefits Fair to learn all about benefits, programs and services offered by CWRU. This year, the fair is going virtual, with partner "booths" on a dedicated website for you to review at your leisure. The fair will also offer info sessions, classes and other experiences throughout the two weeks.
The calendar is listed now on the Benefits website so you can make a plan for the classes and sessions that you want to attend.

Books at Work is Back in January with Two Zoom Options

So much more than a book club, join faculty and staff for one of our most popular programs, Books@Work, starting in January 2021.
Books@Work is a professor-led literature seminar where we build confidence, critical thinking, communication, collaboration and creativity. Over the course of 12 weeks, the group will read and discuss three books. Learn More by "Watching Our Video!"

There are TWO series coming early in 2021.
Tuesdays at Noon starting on January 19
and
Thursdays at 12:15 starting in January 21.
Contact Mary Ann to be placed on the roster for your preferred day!
Request Your Wellness Incentives, Program Attestations Due 11/30
November 30th is the deadline to complete attestation forms for your participation in at least 85% of sessions in a series this year. If you completed programming in:
Community Well-Being
Financial Well- Being
Nutrition or Weight Management
Physical Activity
Stress Management
or Tobacco Cessation
please go to the Wellness Tile in HCM and click, the "Wellness Program Participation." Choose the tab for the program area(s) in which you completed programming, answer honestly and save. You can review your activity on the Wellness Program Tile under "Wellness Summary."

As a reminder, the multi-week series attestations will appear in the "current benefit year" tab and the three fall wellness activities that onboard you for 2021 will appear in the "future benefit year" tab.
Kick off 2021 with the PreventT2 Lifestyle Change Program

Those trying to make healthy lifestyle changes to prevent type 2 diabetes may consider participating in the Diabetes Prevention Program from the CWRU Department of Nutrition beginning in January 2021.

In the PreventT2 lifestyle change program, a trained lifestyle coach and fellow participants will encourage you to make healthy changes that will last a lifetime.

A variety of NEW meditations have been added including "Resisting Viral Infections" audio which is very timely.


Resources for Stressful Times
Since March, the Wellness Program has been offering webinars to help faculty and staff deal with these unprecedented times. Many of the recordings are saved and available on our website. Just log into the CWRU Zoom.
