Dear Community . . .
We have a special event planned for Veteran’s Day, Thursday, November 11th and the community is invited. The North Penn School District will confer high school diplomas to United States veterans who left high school before graduating to serve in the United States armed services. It is bound to be a great evening with participation from the NPHS Airforce JROTC and NPHS Chorus.

The ceremony will take place at 6 p.m. in the North Penn High School Audion, 1340 Valley Forge Road, Lansdale, PA. We haven’t held such a ceremony since 2005, before my time as superintendent, and I cannot wait to meet the veterans for whom we have so much to be grateful.

Veterans, or family members of veterans, interested in participating have until November 1st to contact the NPSD Office of School/Community Engagement at 215-853-1020 to arrange for a diploma and participation in the ceremony. For verification purposes, copies of discharge papers will be requested for all of those participating.

Veterans Day began decades ago as a day to reflect upon the heroism of those who died in our country's service and was originally called Armistice Day. I am honored to be part of the diploma ceremony to celebrate and honor hometown heroes for their willingness to serve and sacrifice for others.

Sincerely,
Curtis R. Dietrich, Ed.D.
Superintendent, NPSD
