National Child Abuse Prevention Month
Dear Friend of CASA,

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month.

Child abuse. Child neglect. These are difficult topics. It is painful to think about children and youth experiencing abuse or neglect through no fault of their own. Sadly, it happens every day.

Each year, nearly 408,000 children in the United States experience abuse or neglect, ushering them into the dependency court and foster care systems. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, at least one in seven children experienced abuse and/or neglect in the past year.

Many times, these children are removed from their homes and placed in foster care. A child in foster care, on average, will move into multiple homes and attend multiple schools. All this chaos and inconsistency has long-term effects.

In 2021 alone, 131 CASA volunteers advocated on behalf of 228 abused and/or neglected children under court protection in Brown County. As a consistent, caring adult presence in the child's life, CASA volunteers provide information in their reports to help judges make important decisions for the child.

Every child deserves to be safe, have a permanent home and the opportunity to thrive. Please consider making a gift today in honor of National Child Abuse Prevention Month.

Your generosity helps sustain our work to recruit, train, and support even more CASA volunteers to advocate for children and youth in our community during an extremely overwhelming and difficult time in their lives. Thank you!

Together, we are changing stories!

With gratitude,
Kristin Jacobs, Executive Director
Thank You, CASA Volunteers!
Celebrated on April 17-23, National Volunteer Week is an opportunity for CASA programs to honor and thank our volunteers!

CASA volunteers take the time to get to know the child at the heart of each case. They come from all walks of life and are unbelievably committed to helping abused and neglected children in our community thrive.

Thank you to our CASA volunteers, in both Brown and Marinette Counties, who selflessly donate their time and talents to serve the most vulnerable children in our community. We are immensely grateful for your unwavering dedication and compassion.

We're also very grateful for volunteers who serve on our Board of Directors and Advisory Councils for their work behind the scenes on behalf of our CASA child advocacy program!
Save The Date!
2022 Classic For Kids Golf Outing
We are excited to host this year's Classic For Kids Golf Outing on Monday, August 22, 2022 at the Brown County Golf Course!

Proceeds raised during the event help us to advocate on behalf of more abused and neglected children in our community. A child with a CASA volunteer is more likely to get help with other services, spend less time in foster care, find a safe, permanent home, and do better in school.

So mark your calendars for this fun-filled day on the links and get geared up to play like a champion on Monday, August 22, 2022!

Contact Kathy (kathy@casabc.org or (920) 437.2272 Ext. 106) to reserve a foursome, participate as a sponsor, or donate an auction item.
