Due to the rapidly-changing nature of the Covid-19 crisis, all school plans are subject to change based on orders from the governor and recommendations from scientific health organizations.
Daily Opportunities to Get Help for Students from Teachers
Progress reports are going out. Do your children need some extra help from their teachers?

Time is scheduled into every afternoon for students to get help from their teachers. Please ask your teachers for an appointment to meet online with them during these times:

Elementary:
M-Th: 3:00-4:20 p.m.

Middle and High School:
M/W: 12:30 p.m.-2:45 p.m.
T/TH:1:30 p.m.-3:00 p.m.
Adobe Creative Tools for Students
Every student in our district can receive a free subscription to the Adobe Tools Suite, which includes a lot of tools for video and sound editing, app development, and graphic design. To get their subscription, students need to get the permission slip signed by their parents/caregivers.

Your student should have also received an email with a version of the form that you can fill out and sign online, if you prefer that method.
Last Chance: Census
Your last chance to complete Census 2020:
Complete your Census 2020 at the Embudo Valley Library by 6 p.m., Monday, October 5, and earn a $10 or $15 gift certificate to Dixon Cooperative Market, Zuly's Cafe, or La Segunda Second Hand Store. You must show confirmation page to librarian to receive your gift card.

Last Chance: Register to Vote
Your last chance to register to vote in the 2020 election: Tuesday, October 6.

It's time to apply for LIHEAP funds (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program)! Click here for the application form. Paper copies of the form will also be distributed with this newsletter at local post offices and stores (Garcia's, Family Dollar).
Communities Against Violence
Hands-On Science Class for Ages 0-5
Explora Children's Museum is offering our community two hands-on science sessions for children ages 0-5. You can sign up to receive a kit and attend and an online 1-hour program, or sign up to receive a kit only. Sessions are:
  • Build and Bridge, Wednesday, October 14th at 10:30. Become builders and architects as you experiment with construction.
  • Seeds Up Close, Wednesday, October 28th at 10:30. Explore seeds and their uses. Take what you learn to know, sow, and grow a sprout of your very own!

P-EBT Card Update
The state says that all cards and monies have been sent out. If you have not received your card or money added to your current food stamps, call 1-800-283-4465 to update your address or request a new card.
