On September 4, New York City will proceed with the 2020 Tax Lien Sale. I have written to the Mayor, Council Speaker, Commissioner of the NYC Department of Finance, and the Brooklyn Borough President expressing my concerns. However, I cannot win this fight alone. This past week, our community came together to reopen the George Walker Jr. Park in East New York. Team Diaz collaborated with Judge Carolyn Walker-Diall, the daugher of the park's namesake and the 75th Precinct's leaders.
School Re-Openings
"The start of the school year in New York City will be delayed, Mayor Bill de Blasio announced Tuesday after hastily reaching a deal with union leaders who had warned it wasn’t safe to reopen buildings on Sept. 10 as originally planned.
Schools are Delayed
All students will begin a “transition and orientation” period on Sept. 16. Regular coursework will not resume for students in-person or remotely until school buildings reopen on Sept. 21. Teachers are expected to report to buildings on Sept. 8, as previously scheduled."
