Message from the Board President
Dear ARNOVA members,

It’s been an interesting and challenging past few months to say the least. I hope you are staying well. When I started as ARNOVA’s president a year and a half ago, I never imagined I’d be part of a process to find a new executive director in year one, and then respond to a pandemic in year two. I am extremely grateful to the ARNOVA Executive Director, staff, Board, and many, many volunteers who have helped to keep ARNOVA not only surviving, but thriving, during this time.

Not being able to meet in person this summer, the board adapted our typical summer planning retreat into a set of virtual meetings and online discussions to address business and do a bit of planning and brainstorming. I wanted to share with you some highlights and key decisions:

  • As you are well aware of by now, we voted to move the November conference to be entirely virtual this year. We’re excited at the opportunities a virtual conference holds and experimenting with virtual components we might be able to maintain into the future. I am looking forward to seeing you all online!

  • The Board reviewed and accepted the 2019 audit. The auditors gave an unqualified audit opinion that ARNOVA follows generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and are free of material error. There were no problems or corrections. Further, there were no adjustments to the financial statements, which is rare. Overall, even with a significant transition in 2019, the auditors were very pleased with the operations and management of the audit process.

#ARNOVA20 Opening Plenary

We are pleased to announce the keynote speakers for this year's Opening Plenary, Changing Roles in the Fight for Climate Change and Social Justice: Vanessa Nakakate, Megan Ming Francis, and moderator Rhodri Davies.

The plenary will focus on how institutions respond to citizens’ demands for action, the need to reconsider approaches and values in times of transition and disruptions, the power that individuals have in framing narratives and leading the way toward meaningful change, and the urgency of rethinking relations and roles that are suitable for tomorrow’s challenges and promises. Click the link below to learn more about our speakers!
Conference Registration

#ARNOVA20 conference registration is now open! This year's rates are less than half of previous years and feature the newly introduced Buy One Give One option. This rate helps provide registration for attendees impacted by the financial constraints due to the current pandemic and/or economic inequities.
Virtual Session Chairs

#ARNOVA20 has gone virtual and we are currently seeking virtual session chairs to help coordinate and moderate virtual sessions before and during this year’s conference. If you are familiar and comfortable with Zoom and other online platforms, please complete the application and we will reach out to you if needed!
Diversity Speakers

Interested in sharing your skills, expertise, and perspective with up and coming young scholars at #ARNOVA20?

Please let us know if you are interested in being a speaker for this year’s virtual Diversity Scholars Program!
Become a Sponsor/Exhibitor

Join us as a sponsor or exhibitor at this year's virtual conference! The conference presents a unique opportunity to gain exposure with experts who are acutely aware of the power of innovation for social good.
