As the leaves of summer transform into their autumn hues, our beloved sailing vessels and motor yachts used in a season past are gradually finding new homes on land for this year's winter storage season.

Dry storage haul-outs have steadily begun this week as vessels make their way to allocated areas in the boatyards of Haven Harbour Marina and Haven Harbour South under the guidance of knowledgeable and experienced lift crews.

Other vessels that will be wet storing over the coming months have begun their decommissioning process as well, preparing onboard systems for in-water winterization.

"We store upwards of 230 vessels a year on land and about 30 more in the water here at HHM," said Haven Harbour Marina Resorts Director of Service Operations Greta Sommers.

At Haven Harbour South, roughly 130 vessels call its boatyard home each winter, with several more taking up slips for wet storage.

We will be providing weekly winter updates on boatyard conditions right here in News @HHMR.
