Dear ES Parents,

This communication contains important information you will need to safely and efficiently navigate elementary school carpool in both the mornings and the afternoons beginning next week (either Monday, October 12 for cohort 1 or Tuesday, October 13 for cohort 2). Please read all of the information below carefully so you are prepared.

Student safety is our #1 priority during carpool drop off and pick up! Always give the carpool staff 100% of your attention.

Extra Patience
We will all need to be extra patient during carpool as we return to school. In addition to having the usual “beginning of the year” challenge of new LNC families who are not familiar with our carpool flow and procedures, this year we have new health and safety protocols to keep our community safe. We can probably expect that both morning and afternoon carpool will take more time than usual even at the decreased 50% student capacity at least for the first few weeks. We ask that you please be understanding and plan accordingly.

Carpool Maps & Procedures
Please carefully refer to our carpool map to understand the flow of carpool at the elementary school.

Morning Carpool
Morning carpool at the elementary school begins at 8:05AM and ends at 8:30AM. Please do not arrive to the ES campus prior to 7:30AM as this can result in a line that backs up onto Hambright Road.
To expedite the necessary COVID-19 health screenings in the morning please complete this form, answering the attestation questions, every morning prior to dropping your child off. See the QR code to the right. You may wish to have this QR code in your car or bookmark the site for your convenience. Once you pull up to the building, a staff member will efficiently take your child’s temperature. If an acceptable temperature is registered, your child may exit your vehicle and proceed into school. Please be sure your child is wearing his or her mask prior to exiting your vehicle. If your child exhibits a temperature of 100.4 or greater, you will be asked to pull into the parking lot and a staff member will take another reading of your child’s temperature. Afternoon Carpool
Afternoon carpool at the elementary school begins at 2:30PM. As we prepare for our two cohorts to join us at school next Monday and Tuesday (10/12 & 10/13) we are requesting that you help us streamline afternoon carpool by CLEARLY printing your child's FIRST name AND your child's teacher's LAST name on a WHITE piece of paper at least 8.5" x 11" using a black marker for clarity. See the example in the picture (that was also shared in the recent LNC Hybrid Video). Please do this and have it displayed in your vehicle's dashboard for AFTERNOON carpool so our staff can EASILY see it and quickly call your child. This simple step will help our carpool run as efficiently as possible beginning next Monday, 10/12.

Please do not arrive on campus before 1:45PM for pick-up. We cannot open the carpool gates sooner because we may have students playing for physical education and they are in areas where cars drive. We do not want to back up traffic onto Hambright Road as a result of parents arriving before 1:45PM.

Please note that if you do not have a placard created and visible with this information at afternoon carpool, you will be asked to exit the campus using the parking lot and must re-enter the carpool lanes to pick your child up at the end of the carpool timeframe - 3:00PM. NO EXCEPTIONS. This is for the safety of your child and for the efficiency of our carpool process.

Late Pick Up Policy
LNC carpool and supervision of students ends at 3:00PM. While we understand emergencies and extenuating circumstances, please make sure you have emergency contacts on file who are authorized to pick up your student in that event. We also ask that you call our front office immediately to let us know that someone else will be picking up your child or if you will be a few minutes late.

We do have a Late Pick Up Policy that begins at 3:15PM. This policy requires you to call us if picking your child up after 3:00PM. Starting at 3:15PM, a staff member will supervise children not picked up by the end of carpool at a rate of $1.00 per minute. For example, if you are not able to pick up your child until 3:30 pm, the cost would be $15.00.

Thank you for your careful attention to the information contained in this email. We thank you in advance for all your patience and understanding in the first few weeks of the carpool process.
