Feed your Soul

Let the market be your respite. Take time to listen to the sound of the falls, feel the sun on your face and inhale the crisp fall air. Smell the aroma of brewing coffee and just baked bread wafting through the air. Take a moment to absorb the vibrant colors and beautiful shapes of the autumn produce. Our farmers are bringing some new exciting products this week and Tomblers Bakery is hosting their own little Celtic Fair. We promise you'll find lots of other little surprises along the way too.

Fall Flavors
Smoky Sweet Potato & Black Bean Casserole
This hearty vegetarian casserole celebrates sweet potatoes which are abundant at the market right now. The recipe calls for canned fire-roasted tomatoes but since fresh tomatoes are still plentiful at the market, we'd suggest roasting your own!

Phillips Farm
Calming, Healing Eucalyptus
Have you tried the fresh-cut Eucalyptus from Phillips Farms? Grown right on the farm, these fragrant branches will make your home smell fresh and clean. If you want to take it to the next level, step-up your shower experience by hanging a few branches of eucalyptus from your shower head... the steam of the shower releases the essential oils of the eucalyptus, creating an unforgettable and long-lasting aroma.

Stop by Phillips Farms this week for all of your favorites: Apple Cider, Raspberries, Asian Pears, Honeycrisp Apples and many other apple varieties. Vegetables this week: Pumpkins, spaghetti squash, honeynut squash, butternut squash, acorn squash, fennel, spinach, cauliflower, broccoli, arugula, lettuce, radishes, Jersey tomatoes, green beans, carrots, kale, swiss chard, beets, onions, garlic and more.

Credit cards accepted. Online ordering available at www.FellowFarmer.com. Choose Easton Farmers Market as your pickup location. $20 minimum order requested.
Scholl Orchards
BIG NEWS!
We’ve got big news from Scholl Orchards... a NEW APPLE release this Saturday! Come meet the newest member of the orchard - ‘Rosalee!’ This sweet-tart beauty is a cross between Honeycrisp and Fuji, and a sister to the Everscrisp. Come take a bite outta this awesome new Apple! And of course you'll find lots of other apple varieties, fresh pressed cider, and apple cider donuts too.

Is your porch ready for autumn and Halloween? Scholl's has some gorgeous decorative gourds and pumpkins!
Cabbage Throw Farm
Fun baby cut greens, root vegetables and garlic!
Cabbage Throw Farm loves trying out new greens. And their newest baby green, upland cress is a winner! It’s tender and crisp with a zesty, peppery flavor. If you like arugula, we think you'll enjoy upland cress. Other baby greens include arugula, farmers’ mix, baby kale, and spring mix. Carrots, beets, watermelon radishes, purple top turnips, hakurei, and red and French breakfast radishes are sweetening up during these cooler nights. Lettuce, kale, Bok choy Tatsoi, collards, scallions, peppers, potatoes, and culinary herbs will also be available this weekend. Check the stand to see what grab bags and special sales Dean and Emily are offering at market. You may even catch the first glimpse of Broccoli Rabe!
Primordia Mushroom Farm
Farm to Restaurant
There's nothing your farmers' market managers love more than visiting a local restaurant and finding one of our farmer's products on the menu. Last Sunday we enjoyed an absolutely delicious appetizer while dining creekside at the Milford House in Milford, NJ. Primordia's Pioppino mushrooms were sauteed with shallots and tossed with toasted almonds and drizzled with a red wine and balsamic reduction. This dish was perfect in its simplicity, and could be easily recreated in your own kitchen.
The Backyard Growers
Richard is making room in the greenhouse and this is your chance to obtain pink shades of Peruvian Lilly (Alstroemeria). They might survive the cold temperatures of Zone 6, but Richard grows them in containers and winters them in a cold but frost free area – the cooler the better! Plants will be in 2-3 gallon containers. Alstroemeria make great cut flowers which last for several days: height 24"(staking is recommended) typical flowering occurs: June, July, August, September, October; Exposure: Sun, Light Shade, Half Shade in fertile soil.

Last of the Kiwi berries this week! Freshly dug "Tender Sweet" carrots and more!

From the Creamery
Cheese & Yogurt
Raspberry Ridge Creamery
Come by the booth for your favorite sheep cheese and yogurt this weekend.

Rob is featuring Camelbah (camembert-style) cheese made from fresh sheep milk. This cheese is also called a "bloomy white rind" cheese because of the white soft rind on the outside. Inside, it is soft and a perfect match for your favorite spirits or baked in a loaf of bread for a holiday treat!  Here is a simple baked camembert recipe: http://cindyduffield-cookingthebooks.co.uk/baked-camembert-bread/
Haven Farmstead
Blue is back! Haven Farmstead just released their first batch of raw-milk Blue from their 2020 pasture season. It’s mild and soft but has plenty of Umami, salt, and a touch of barn funk!

We'd suggest pairing it with some arugula or cress from Cabbage Throw Farm, and your favorite apple variety. Add a lite honey mustard vinaigrette and you've got the perfect fall salad!
Just Baked
Celtic Fair at Tomblers Bakery!
Since Tomblers wasn't able to participate in the Celtic Classic this year, they decided to celebrate their heritage with their own little Celtic Fair at the market! They'll be offering scones, mini
Irish Soda Breads, Shortbread "Jammers" raspberry filled shortbread cookies, all of their 6 other shortbread varieties and of course their famous pasties. Join in the Celtic celebration - and if you wear a kilt, you'll receive a free Pastie!

Be sure to stop by Fieldstone and pick up a bag of your favorite coffee or tea to go with those yummy scones and shortbread!
Apple Ridge Farm
Apple Ridge will have their farm-baked apple crumb pies available for a limited time. These pies are frozen and can stored for Thanksgiving.
