The college’s student-led Science Council has a GREAT line-up of activities packed with learning, fellowship, treats and fun. Join us!

Mark your calendar for Rapid Fire Research, a showcase of student research ideas Thursday, Nov. 3, at 6 p.m. in LSB 133. Undergrads and grad students are invited to apply to present by Oct. 30. Hear scholars from diverse disciplines describe innovative ideas – in four minutes with four slides! All are welcome.

We congratulate the college’s most recent recipients of USU’s ‘A’ Pin, one of the university’s oldest and most prestigious academic honors for undergraduates. Honorees have earned 4.0 GPAs, while undertaking at least 15 graded credit hours for two consecutive semesters.

Receive guidance from upperclassmen in navigating your academic career. The application deadline for the Science Council’s Peer Mentorship Program is extended to Monday, Oct. 31. Freshmen and Sophomores may join the program as mentees, and Juniors and Seniors may apply to serve as mentors.

Priority registration for Spring Semester 2023 begins Monday, Nov. 14. Are you ready? Check Degree Works to make sure you’re on track with your degree, and make an appointment to meet with your advisor, if needed.

Science Unwrapped, the college’s public outreach program, welcomes USU environmental chemist Kimberly Hageman as featured speaker Friday, Oct. 21, at 7 p.m. in ESLC 130. Inquiring minds of all ages are welcome to this free event, which includes post-talk learning activities. Also, mark your calendar for Nov. 4: Featured Science Unwrapped speaker is USU physicist Rob Davies.

All are invited to USU’s 47th Annual Honors Last Lecture, Tuesday, Oct. 25, from 3-4 p.m. in the Russell/Wanlass Performance Hall. Featured speaker is 2022 Honors Outstanding Professor David Brown of Mathematics and Statistics, who presents “Our Sixth Sense: Math.”

No need to re-invent the wheel! USU’s University Marketing and Communications Office offers attractive, effective, university brand-compliant poster templates (and templates for other communications materials) to aid your communications efforts.

Need help with your classes? Free tutoring services, including math, statistics, science and science writing, are available for USU students. Reach out! 

Did you know Utah State offers a variety of support services for students? Don’t hesitate to reach out to these resources for information and assistance. You matter.

The USU Emergency Hardship Fund grants help to students who encounter circumstances that could derail their educational progress.

USU offers numerous opportunities for undergrads to fund and to present their research. Keep an eye on the USU Office of Research website to learn about opportunities. NOTE: Nov. 1 is the deadline to apply to present at USU’s Fall Student Research Symposium, as well as UCUR 2023.
