Happy Holy Week Apostles!

I’m writing this email on Thursday night, just a couple of hours removed from our Maundy Thursday service. It was great to see so many of you there! If you were not able to make it, check out the livestream sometime over the next few days to watch the last 15 minutes of the service. We heard a powerful setting of Psalm 22 during the stripping of the altar. I picked up this tradition at a previous church I served and I hope it becomes an integral part of our Holy Week experience at Apostles. Special thanks to Michael Mangum, Ryan Walker and our tech team for making it happen!

I wanted to let you know about a few remaining Holy Week activities:

  • Today at 12:00 pm we’ll worship with Anglican churches across Raleigh for Good Friday. The service is taking place at Holy Trinity. Childcare is available. If you’re not able to attend in person, you can livestream it here. 

  • We have two services on Easter Sunday at *9:00* and 11:00 am. There are no 10 Hour programs between services ~ join us for donuts and coffee instead! Plan to stay late and/or arrive early. Rumor has it that our brass section of the worship team will be expanding. Let’s hear it for the french horn! More seriously, lots of people who don’t attend worship services regularly remain open to participating in worship on Easter Sunday. Be encouraged to extend invitations to your friends, family or neighbors who are not a part of a Christian community.
 
  • While not a worship service, our children’s ministry Egg Hunt is another great way to connect people into the life of the church. It’s taking place on Saturday at 10:00 am at Apostles. Our daughter is about 3 years and 48 weeks away from being able to actually participate, but I’ll be there with her to meet guests who will be there because of your invitations. 

This is a very full week for our staff and volunteers, but it is by far the most meaningful time of year to be a follower of Jesus. I look forward to celebrating His resurrection alongside you.

What's Happening at Apostles
Our Easter offering this year will support ongoing relief work in Ukraine through our local partner CCX {college ministry}. Funds will go to providing shelter, food, clothing, and medical care to displaced people; evacuating refugees; and offering the hope of the gospel. This will also support Ukrainian staff who are engaged in this work but have lost financial support, and therefore their salaries, due to the war.

Join us for Easter Egg Hunt and fellowship! Bring your own basket for the Egg Hunt. 
We'll have coffee, donuts and fun activities for all ages.
**NO 10 HOUR** Programming this Sunday (04/17)! 10 Hour will resume on April 24 with our new Formation Forum: The Three-Strand Cord.
