THE NEW STANDARD IN BOARD GOVERNANCE TRAINING
The Challenge
Non-profit boards of directors are indispensable in guiding organizations to success, delivering on their missions, and achieving positive outcomes for communities. The skills and expertise of a board’s directors are crucial to its collective impact. Yet many boards do not have the capacity to train their directors in a comprehensive, efficient way, and many directors are constrained by their schedules and limited access to resources.
The Solution
Capacity Canada has partnered with Conestoga College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning to deliver its Modern Board Program to help train current and potential non-profit board directors across Canada. With Modern Board, you will have access to unique and comprehensive online training from non-profit board governance experts. The two-program online training includes multi-media guidance through video lectures, reading materials, and journaling opportunities to reflect on your personal experience with board roles, responsibilities, and more!
Fall registration for both courses is now open.
The first course - Essentials of Governing begins September 8th.
The second course - Advanced Understanding of Specific Concerns of a Governing Board begins November 3rd.

New - Moving with Music Pages
Since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, Julia's Place has been adapting to try and find ways that we can still reach our current clients and offer more to vulnerable people in our society. While we have had a great response to online sessions, we recognize that there are barriers to accessing online programs for some people. This is what inspired the creation of Moving with Music pages.
Moving with Music pages are an accessible resource for older adults. These pages are designed to be easy to read and follow so that individuals can use them at home or with caregivers. Each page contains song suggestions, visual diagrams and detailed instructions. These pages can be printed on paper or viewed on computers, phones, and tablets.
The first Moving with Music page is now available in the new Julia's Place store on the website! The “You Betcha Stretch” is a 15 minute, full body warm up routine. Try it out yourself or with your loved ones!
